DutchHi, my name is Joel Bean- I am an English/German (and on occasion Spanish) teacher and former musician from the USA, currently living in Warsaw. I am extremely passionate about languages/culture and how it can help us to develop a much wider understanding of every aspect of life and help to build meaningful relationships with other people. With this in mind, my goal is to be able to take in the culture, language, and perspective of others with an open and curious mind, and to also be able to teach and share my own culture, language, and experience through history, music, philosophy, and other disciplines. I want to be able to foster a sense of "cultural counterpoint"; that is, the ability to see the same basic object via several lenses at once, something which can be a direct outcome of the language learning process. If this sounds good to anybody, and you would like to become a friend, please don't hesitate to reach out- I would especially be happy to meet anybody in person!
I really love Steve Kaufmann and his respective methods in particular, and I would love to find others who share a similar enthusiasm for languages and in particular enjoy the process of learning. There are also several other polyglots/language enthusiasts whom I enjoy and I will be happy to name as well :)
My German is at a C2 level, my Spanish is just right below, my Portuguese somewhere just under that, and my Ukrainian and Polish are somewhere in the middle (chcę zdać egzamin języka polskiego na poziomie B2 w ciągu najbliższych trzech lat)
Met het Nederlands ben ik nog en beginner, maar ik find deze taal eekt leuk (i gemakkelijk) ook ik will een dag uit Polen naar Nederland verhuizen :)
I would, in any case, like to refine all of the aforementioned languages to an extremely high level (with the goal of at some point being able to pass an advanced exam for all of those )

Hi there!
I'm from Hong Kong and currently residing in Scotland. I had had a long-term relationship with Taiwanese, so I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese as if it were my native language.
I love traveling and have been to Nepal🇳🇵(Himalaya!), India, Myanmar...etc. And lived in Australia for three years. Other hobbies are books, coffee, movies and comics.
Looking for language learning partners here (who isn't?)
English: I can communicate in English just fine, but I'd like to become even more fluent.
Japanese: I'm still a beginner in Japanese, but my goal is to be able to hold normal conversations.
If you prefer to communicate with me in Chinese for a language exchange, that's absolutely fine. English is also an option, although I'm not as skilled as a native speaker, we can still improve together, right?

Hey! I'm from a village in England called East Horsley, and I have an Australian passport also. I love travelling and new experiences, and have lived now in 8 countries. I was living in Kyiv when Russia invaded and stayed there for a week in the war, it was scary ; ) I was teaching English in Kyiv, mostly to children between about 10 and 15, now I am in Kyiv again.
