CIAO! I'm a visiting PhD student in France. I am from Catania (Sicily) but I have been living in northern Italy (Bologna, Bolzano) for many years.
Which languages can I speak? Well, it seems I can speak Italian and if you want to learn it, I can surely help you in doing so.
I can speak English at a good level (I think I am a little below C1), but I'm looking for people which would help me to practice it, remember least frequent words, be at ease in switching languages.
Moreover, I can speak a little French, but at a very basic level and I would like to learn it as well.
My ideal tandem partner would therefore be able to speak both languages (or just English, if I have to choose).
I'm into tv series, art and movies, so any related topic is appreciated. I would also like to meet over a drink, if you are up to it.
Anywat, I usually work a lot so I would be mostly available over late evenings, at dinner time or right before it. If it's ok with you and you fit my description, please leave a message!

Je suis américain, à la retraite depuis 10 ans plus au moins. Architecte, j'ai eu contact pour la première fois avec la langue française il y a 47 ans ici a Aix en tant qu'étudiant dans une institution qui s'appelait a l'époque "L'Institut des études françaises aux non-francophones". Depuis la retraite de mon travail pour la ville de Seattle, WA, aux Etats-Unis, je profite des longues sejours avec ma femme a l'étranger. Cette année on a loué un apartement au centre d'Aix-en-Provence de la fin de 2022 jusqu'à la fin de juin, 2023.
Depuis mes études de français à Aix, je vivais plusieurs années à Paris ou je travaillais sur le site de Euro Disneyland pour un cabinet d'architecture français. Je raconte ceci pour faire savoir que c'est plutôt la conversation que je cherche, puisque mon niveau de français est assez avancé, mais j'ai perdu une certaine facilité pour parler du à mon longue absence de contact avec français. Je vous assure que je suis bien capable de vous aider avec vos notions d'anglais. A Paris, je travaillais avec des particuliers français pour ce même but.
I have written above in French to make myself clear. I am a native speaker of English, and except for my years in France, have spent my entire life speaking that language. I taught English in several French universities during my years in this country and at the same time took on individuals and small groups at home giving English lessons.
I look forward to spending time with a mature person with whom I might possibly share much in common.
I have no car, so I hope you will tell me where you live in Aix-en-Provence AND what days you care to meet and for how long. I suggest one hour for each language - meaning two hours we could spend together. I suggest two days a week, but one day per week would be OK also. Please let me know and thank you for reading what I have said here.
