Hi there!
My name is Violaine and I'm French. I recently moved from Tokyo to Vancouver and — even though Canada is pretty awesome — I miss Japan already! In total, I spent 6.5 years (most of my adult years!) in Japan. I lived in Okinawa, Tokyo and Sapporo and I worked for a couple of Japanese companies.
I am planning to stay in Canada long term, and I would love to connect with Japanese people (born in Canada or in Japan) who live in Vancouver. More than language exchange partners, I am looking for long-term Japanese friends, because I love Japan and I want to speak Japanese on a regular basis. I speak Japanese fluently, but it's far from perfect. Most Japanese people are too polite to correct me, but seriously, do not hesitate to do so. That'd be a HUGE help!
Besides French, I speak English and some Italian as well. I'd rather connect with people who are interested in learning French because it's my native language, but English is also an option! Other than Japan, I also love running, hiking, wine, Japanese sake and trying new restaurants! Feel free to reach out if you think we could get on well!

バンクーバーに長期滞在する予定なので、カナダに生まれた日本人か長期滞在している日本人に会いたいです。言語交換パートナーより友達を作りたいです！できれば、毎日日本語を話せたいです。もう気づいたと思いますが、私の日本語は完璧ではありません。できるだけ自然な日本語を話したいので、間違いがあれば、お気軽に教えてください。非常に助かります。もしフランス語かフランス文化に興味があれば、ご連絡ください。英語とイタリア語も話せます。趣味はランニング、ハイキングとカフェやレストラン巡りです。ワインと日本酒が大好きです！

I will be travelling to Spain next year to do the Camino de Santiago and I believe that I will have a more enjoyable experience if I´m able to converse to some degree in Spanish. I have been practicing primarily on my own for the last 2 years but need help with direct conversations.
